Lawn Games

laddergolfTo provide more fun and entertainment for our owners and guests, we’ve introduced some lawn games to the Gazebo Area. For More Help to set up the lawn before the games commence, view this site now. You may be familiar with both of these games, but if you’re not, they’re easy to catch on to. The first of them is Ladder Golf. Ladder Golf is the new backyard sensation and quite addicting once you get the hang of tossing the bolas!

Players stand somewhere between 5 paces and 15 feet away from “the ladder” – which is your target. The top rung/step of the ladder is worth 3 points, the middle step is worth 2 points and the bottom rung is worth 1 point. The goal is to score 21 points by the end of a round.

Each round consists of each player making 3 bola tosses. The bola is 2 golf balls connected together by a nylon rope. Once both players have thrown 3 bolas each, the points are counted and you continue into the next round until someone scores 21 points exactly. Points are always counted at the end of a round in case one player manages to knock off a bola belonging to his or her opponent.

cornholeThe other highly addicting game that has been introduced to the property is Cornhole, or Corn Toss, Bean Bag Toss, Indiana Horseshoes, Soft Horseshoes, Bean Bag, Bean Toss, etc. This has become such a hit, there is even an American Cornhole Association.

The goal of Cornhole is similar to Ladder Golf, you want to score 21 points. If you can land a bean bag on the Cornhole platform that will score you one point, if you can land the bag in the hole, that scores 3 points. Players take turns throwing until someone scores 21 points.

It is recommended that players stand as far as 30 feet away, however we’re not professional Cornhole players here, and take a more leisurely approach! Feel free to check out the Official Cornhole Rules for more details. And might we add, they are highly detailed!
