The Island Club complex is made up of two very separate types of entities. There are whole ownership units which are in the Atlantis, Neptune and Waterway buildings, and timeshare units which are in the Seawatch and Oceanview buildings. Other than sharing some of the common amenities of the Island Club such the tennis courts and pool area, timeshare units have operations, concerns, and issues that are far different than those of whole ownership and therefore have their own organizational structure. For further information on timeshare, please go to the SPM Resorts website.
The whole ownership units are bought and sold like any real estate property. There are 189 whole ownership units at The Island Club. There are one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom units. These could be ocean front, ocean view, or ocean orientated. The majority of the owners use their units for renting, either through a rental agency or individually, and for staying with family and/or friends. However, some of the owners live at Island Club year round and some use Island Club as a second home. The different interests of all of the owners of whole ownership units creates a very diverse set of needs which creates an atmosphere of cooperation for maintaining the grounds, providing services, and implementing amenities that helps make the Island Club of Hilton Head such a unique residential community.
